Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) is the most familiar Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing technology.
FFF printers use a huge variety of materials suitable for engineering applications through to model making, the arts and sculpting to name just a few.
Engineering materials include ABS, PC, Nylon, Peek, Carbon and many more including fire retardant ABS.
For general and aesthetic items traditional PLA’s in a myriad of colours are available, through to stone, wood and metal filled filaments for unique sculpted and cast appearances.
meltd3d utilises dual print head machines allowing for dual colour or dual material production.
The process involves a filament of material extruded at temperature through a print head, or print core. The controlled extrusion of the filament is then laid down, layer by layer to form the component’s geometry. Layer resolutions of 0.06mm can be achieved.
